Building a Pet Vaccination Dashboard With Power BI
Petofy is a pet care platform based in Dehradun. Their team managed vaccination records in manual logs, making it difficult to track each pet's vaccine history or spot overdue shots. To address this, we built a Power BI report connected to Azure SQL. The solution gives clinics a clear view of every pet's vaccination history, automatically highlights overdue vaccinations, and makes it easy to compare vet performance across the clinic.
Challenge
With vaccination records stored in manual logs, staff had to search through entries to find a pet's history or next due date. This process often led to missed overdue vaccinations. It was also hard to see which vets had the most appointments or how efficiently they handled visits. As a result, leadership made decisions based on gut feeling rather than reliable data.
Our Innovation
We built a data model in Azure SQL to organize pet profiles, vaccination records, and due dates, linking each record to the vet who administered the shot. Using DAX in Power BI, we created measures that automatically flag overdue vaccinations and rank vets by visit count and time between appointments. Clinics can easily filter the report by pet, vaccine type, or date range to get the information they need.
