Project Overview
The Vendor Canvas app streamlines the process of receiving and reading Invoice PDFs from emails. By automatically generating invoices in the Canvas app with the help of AI models and Power Automate, it seamlessly stores the data in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dataverse for efficient management and record-keeping.
Challenge
  • Manual invoice data extraction from PDF files was time-consuming and causing frequent human errors.
  • Eliminating manual data entry and improving efficiency was the top priority of the client.
  • The client needed to automate data extraction from PDF invoices received via email, removing the need for manual entry.
  • Required seamless integration with SharePoint for document storage and Dynamics 365 Business Central for financial processing.
  • They wanted to improve accuracy, processing speed, and reduce operational overhead.
Our Solution

  • We delivered a smart algorithm via the Vendor Canvas App, that parses PDF files from emails and extracts details. 

  • Implemented a data mapping framework - Power Automate - to map the extracted information to the required fields. 

  • We used AI models to process 400 different invoices and extract data from them. 

  • By Using Power App and Power Automate, invoice PDFs and invoices within the Canvas app effectively extracted. 

  • Through powerful APIs and connectors, the invoice extraction system integrates to Business Central, storing the extracted data.
